Adding people is easy! You just need their relevant information, and you’re good to go.
Just follow these few simple steps and you will be adding people in no time!
- Click on People in the Admin Area > ‘Add Person’
- A window will then appear allowing you to chose the People Category the new person will fall under.
- After selecting a category, it will bring you to the add person page. The exact layout of this page and the fields that are displayed will be dependent on what was defined in your People Category layout.
- When all the information for the person has been added, simply go to the bottom or top of the page and press the ‘Save’ button which will then load their profile allowing you to perform extra tasks on the new person.
And, that’s it! Let us know if you have any questions in the process by clicking the chat bubble in the lower corner!
The two ways of adding people
One of the most importing parts of keeping Elvanto up-to-date is simply ensuring that everyone who is supposed to be in the database is in the database.
Adding a person directly
To add a person directly, simple go to ‘People’ in the admin area, and click ‘Add Person’. Then, fill out their details, and select save. This is the easiest way to add a person to your database. It also gives you the most control over the information, because you’re inputting yourself.

Adding people through a form
If you need to add a lot of people, you should create a form for them to fill out. You can set a form to automatically update information and add new people.
We’ll talk more about forms later, in this section.
People Status
Setting the right status for each person in your system will ensure you get the most bang for your buck. In Elvanto, there are three possible statuses for people: Active, Contact, and Archived.
You only pay for ‘Active’ persons, but they’re also the only People Status that is fully functional. If you class someone as a Contact, their information is stored, but much of it becomes ‘view only’. And if you class someone as Archived, they are hidden from reports.
Choosing which status to use is easy! If the person is a volunteer, or donor, or regular attendee of your church, they’re Active. If you need to be able to recall information about them, but they aren’t classed as Active, then they’re a Contact. And if you don’t need to access their information, set them as Archived. You don’t need their information cluttering up the system.
