Updating profiles via importing streamlines the process, improves accuracy, and saves time—especially when handling large datasets.
How to Import and Update Existing Data
- Log into Elvanto as an Admin with People Permissions.
- Navigate to People > Import in the main menu.
- Click Choose File and select the CSV file you wish to import.
- Select the date format that matches your file's formatting.
- After uploading map the CSV columns to the correct fields in Elvanto to ensure data is updated accurately.
- At the bottom of the page under the How would you like to handle duplicate people? leave the If a person already exists, would you like to update it or skip the person? to Update duplicates.
- Leave or update Match duplicates with section to the most relevant data.
- Select Continue
- Review the import summary and click Import to begin the process.
- This process may take a few moments, but once successful this will update existing matched users and add new users with no matched profile.
Additional Tips:
- Ensure your CSV file follows the correct structure (e.g., consistent headers, proper date formats). Review and download the example file.
- If you are updating existing profiles, make sure each person has a unique identifier (e.g., email or Elvanto ID) to prevent duplicate records.
