Exporting information out of your current system to be imported into Elvanto is an important and vital step in your Onboarding with Tithely. Below you will see some basic exporting information as well as links to several database help articles on how to export that information.
First, the data to consider importing into Elvanto would be:
-
People
-
People Notes
-
Service Attendance
-
Group Attendance
-
Financial Transactions/Pledges
If you’re using Elvanto and another platform side-by-side while making the transition, it might be easier to hold off on importing certain data (such as attendance) until you officially make the switch. This will save having to reimport at a later time.
But at the end of the day, you want data in Elvanto so that your users have something to work with, so it might just be better to re-import or add the extra data after the rollout. Your call!
What format does Elvanto accept?
All data that has been exported per our instructions below are acceptable in the form they come out as. For all other data types, we prefer a standard spreadsheet format, such as .xlsx or .csv. As a general guideline, if Excel can read it, we can likely work with it.
Please Note: If you will be importing the data yourself and not with the help of our data migration specialists, the file will need to be a .csv.
Exporting your data from your current database
Every database should give you an option to export your data as a CSV file, and generally, this is done by creating export reports from their system as a CSV.
If you’re unsure of how to export data from your existing database, contact the company’s support team. Ask them how to generate a custom report in CSV format for the data you’re wanting to export.
We are dealing with imports all the time so feel free to contact our team if you need any pointers!
