How to Hide Specific Fields Within an Individual’s Member Directory Profile

Once the Member Directory has been set up and made accessible in your Elvanto account, both members and administrators have the ability to hide fields in individual profiles. This can be done by the individual themselves from within their ‘My Account’ window, or by an administrator within an individual’s profile.

Hiding Directory Fields from the My Account Area

For a member, this can be done within the ‘My Profile’ page by selecting ‘Privacy Settings’ in the Actions pane.

Steps to Hide Directory Fields as a Member

  1. Navigate to ‘My Profile’ Page:

    • Log in to your Elvanto account.
    • Go to the ‘My Profile’ page.
  2. Select ‘Privacy Settings’:

    • In the Actions pane, click on ‘Privacy Settings’.
  3. Adjust Privacy Settings:

    • To change what is displayed in the Member Directory entry, select or unselect different fields to show.
    • For example, to hide your Age and show your Email Address, set the Age box to grey and the Email Address box to green.

Hiding Directory Fields from the Admin Area

Like members, administrators can also manage an individual’s privacy settings within the Admin Area.

Steps to Hide Directory Fields as an Administrator

  1. Navigate to the Admin Area:

    • Log in to your Elvanto admin account.
  2. Access Member Profile:

    • Go to the individual’s profile whose settings you want to manage.
  3. Select ‘Member Directory Settings’:

    • Click on ‘Member Directory Settings’ to bring up the privacy settings window.
  4. Adjust Privacy Settings:

    • Similar to the Privacy Settings window for members, change what is displayed in the Member Directory entry by selecting or unselecting different fields to show.
    • Note that showing or hiding Privacy Fields will display the same information that a member would see when hiding their own Member Directory fields.
