The Self Check-in feature is designed to streamline the process of managing attendance at your events or services. To ensure a seamless check-in experience, it's essential to have your Check-in settings properly configured. Here's a step-by-step guide to utilizing the Self Check-in system effectively.
Setting Up Check-in
- Log into your Elvanto account.
Note: If you are unable to complete the following steps it may be due to your permissions level. Reach out to your account Super Admin for support. - Select Settings.
- Select Check-in.
- Scroll down to the Self Check-in heading.
- Select your desired settings:

What can be searched when using self-checkin?
Note: Select what information can be searched for when someone is using Self Check-in. -
Security Code Visibility
Note: This allows you to control if you would like to hide security codes from the Self Check-in screen. -
Security Timeout
Note: By default, idle check-in sessions timeout after 15 seconds. To change this, enter a custom duration below. -
Check-in All
Note:You can enable or disable 'Check-in All' showing on the Self Check-in screen. -
Check-out
Note: You can enable or disable 'Check-out' from the Self Check-in screen.

What can be searched when using self-checkin?
- Select Save.
Initiating Self Check-in
- Select Check-in from the left navigation menu.
- Start the Check-in process by selecting the correlating service under Upcoming Services.
Note: You can also access services by selecting Services in the navigation menu directly then Check-in.
Checking In Attendees
- Identifying Attendees by entering a phone number, last name, or security code into the search field to find an individual.
Note: This page is optimized for touch devices with large buttons, but a physical or on-screen keyboard can also be used. - A list of names will appear based on your search.
- Click on the desired service time and room to check the person in.
Note: If you've configured Demographic Progression and Rooms, attendees will be automatically assigned to the correct room upon check-in. Learn how to set up rooms for check-in. - Click Click Here to Finish.
- You can then proceed to check in other attendees as needed.
Tips for a Smooth Check-in Process

There is a permanent “No Room” option, in the event all of their rooms are full. It provides a fallback option during self-check-in, ensuring that no child is left without a place to be checked into.
- Pre-Check Settings: Always review your check-in settings before the day of the event to prevent any last-minute issues.
- Test the System: Conduct a trial run to familiarize yourself and other staff with the check-in process.
- Provide Assistance: Have volunteers or staff available to assist attendees with the self check-in process, especially during your first few events using this system.
By following these steps and tips, you can ensure that the Self Check-in process adds efficiency and a positive experience to your event management toolkit.
