Creating and Editing Custom Fields in Elvanto

Custom Fields in Elvanto offer flexibility in capturing specific information according to your organization's needs. Whether you want to add a new data point or edit existing ones, Custom Fields can be tailored to suit your requirements. This guide outlines the process of creating, editing, and even deleting Custom Fields within your People Categories.

Creating a Custom Field. 

  1. Log into Elvanto as an Admin.
  2. Hover over People.
  3. Select Categories.
  4. Select the category you want to customize.
    Note: This will edit profiles only in the selected category. Click here for more information about editing people categories.
  5. From the sidebar, choose the "Custom Fields" option. This will lead you to a list of your existing Custom Fields and the option to add a new one.
  6. Click the Add Custom Field button to initiate the creation process. A new window will appear, allowing you to define the details of your Custom Field.
  7. In the new window, specify the name and type of your Custom Field. You can also determine who can view and edit this field. Furthermore, if needed, you can make the field editable directly from the check-in screen.
  8. Save Changes.

Editing a Custom Field

  1. Access Custom Fields: Follow the steps mentioned earlier to access the Custom Fields section within the desired People Category.
  2. Edit Existing Field: Locate the Custom Field you wish to edit. Click on the field to open its settings for editing.
  3. Make Changes: Modify the field's name, accessibility, or any other settings as required.
  4. Save Changes: After making the necessary changes, save them to update the Custom Field. The updated information will be reflected within the designated People Category.

Deleting a Custom Field

To delete a Custom Field:

  1. Access Custom Fields: Navigate to the Custom Fields section within the relevant People Category.
  2. Delete Field: Locate the Custom Field you want to delete and simply select the red "X" icon next to it.
  3. Confirm Deletion: A confirmation prompt will appear. Confirm the deletion, and the Custom Field will be permanently removed from the People Category.

Note: Keep in mind that Custom Fields may appear differently on profiles based on individual Access Permissions and People Category layout configurations.
