Occasionally, you may need to add a guest speaker or visiting preacher to your service roster. In Elvanto, you can do this by creating a new profile for them or using a generic "Guest" profile.
Note: If the guest speaker is already in your system as a contact, you will need to make them active first. Then, in the Account and Volunteering tab of their profile, check the box next to "This person is a volunteer" to allow them to be added to the roster.
How to Add a Guest Speaker
Follow these steps to add a guest speaker to your service roster:
- Log into your Elvanto Admin account.
- Navigate to the People section in the main menu on the left-hand side.
- Click Add Person to create a new profile for the visiting speaker.
- Fill in the necessary details, such as their name and contact information.
- Go to the Account and Volunteering tab in their profile.
- Check the box next to "This person is a volunteer" to enable them to be scheduled.
- Once the profile is created, navigate to the Services section.
- Select the service where you want to add them and go to the Volunteers tab.
- Clear any filters, then search for the guest speaker's profile.
- Drag their name into the appropriate position in the service roster.
- Click Save to confirm the changes.
Managing Guest Speaker Profiles
To keep your church database organized, you can switch the guest speaker back to Contact status after the service if needed.
This method ensures that guest speakers can be scheduled without being added as permanent members of your church database.
