How to Edit a Profile in Elvanto

Editing a profile in Elvanto is a straightforward process that allows you to keep your church member information up-to-date. However, there are certain conditions under which you may find limitations to editing, such as when a profile's status is set to 'Contact'.

How to Edit a Profile

  1. Log into Elvanto.
  2. Select People.
  3. Use the search bar to find the person's profile you want to edit.
  4. Click the profile name to edit the profile.
  5. Click on the field you want to edit.
  6. Enter the new information.
  7. Click Save.
Note: If a particular field isn't visible in the profile, it may be concealed within the people category layout. To adjust this, refer to our guide here. On the other hand, if the field is visible but appears grayed out and uneditable, it's likely due to restricted access permissions. An administrator can modify these permissions for you. Learn more about adjusting permissions in our guide here.

Understanding Editing Restrictions

Profile Status Impact: If you notice that the edit fields are greyed out and cannot be modified, it may be due to the profile's status. Profiles marked as ‘Contact’ have limited editing capabilities.

Converting Status from Contact to Active:

To enable full editing capabilities, you may need to change the member's status from ‘Contact’ to ‘Active’. This change can typically be made in the status section of the profile editing page.

  1. Navigate to the status field within the profile editing area.
  2. Select ‘Active’ from the dropdown menu to change the profile’s status from ‘Contact’.
Once the status is updated, all fields should become editable.
