Enabling 2FA in your Personal Elvanto Account

Enhancing the security of your Elvanto account is essential to safeguard your sensitive information. A highly effective way to increase security is by enabling Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), also known as Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) or 2FA authentication. This feature adds an additional verification step to ensure only authorized individuals can access your account. In this article, we will guide you through the process of enabling MFA/2FA for your personal Elvanto account, giving you extra peace of mind.

Steps to Enable 2FA:

  1. Log into Elvanto.
  2. Navigating to your Elvanto account's Profile.
    Note: You can find this option by clicking on the username located in the top-right corner of the screen.
  3. In your Profile section, locate the Two Factor Authentication option.
    Note: It can be found in the sidebar under the "Security" category. Click on it to proceed.

  4. Select the Get Started button.
  5. Once you click the Get Started button, a QR code will be displayed on the screen. This QR code is necessary for linking your chosen Authenticator app to your Elvanto account.
  6. Use your preferred Authenticator app to scan the QR code displayed on the screen.
    Note: If you don't have an Authenticator app yet, you can download Google Authenticator from the Apple App Store for iOS devices or the Google Play Store for Android devices.
  7. Use Password Manager (Optional)
    • If you utilize a Password Manager such as 1Password or LastPass, you may have the option to store and manage these QR codes within the app itself. Check if your Password Manager offers this functionality as an alternative method.
  8. Once you have successfully scanned the QR code, the app will display your Elvanto account in its list of connected accounts. Locate the entry for Elvanto and copy the verification code from the app.  
  9. Return to the Two Factor Authentication page in your Elvanto account and find the provided textbox. Paste the verification code you obtained from the Authenticator app into the textbox. After entering the code
  10. Click the Verify button.
  11. Upon successful verification, you will receive a confirmation message indicating that your 2FA setup is complete. As a precautionary measure, Elvanto allows you to download backup codes that can be used in case you are unable to use the Authenticator app.
