Understanding Phone Numbers & Formatting in Elvanto

This article is a quick guide on managing profile phone numbers and understanding country specific formatting.

When managing profiles within your system, each profile is equipped with two built-in phone number fields. One of these fields, the mobile phone field, is directly linked with SMS integrations for streamlined communication. Any custom fields associated with phone numbers are reserved solely for storing information.

The formatting of the mobile phone number field is determined by two factors:

  • The country selected for your account in Settings > Account
    • Additionally, when multiple locations are in use, the phone number formatting will default to the associated country for the selected location (see Settings > Locations).
  • The country listed within a user’s profile. This setting supersedes the account-specific country for the particular profile.

An example:

    • US numbers will be formatted as (XXX) XXX-XXXX
    • Australian numbers will display as XXXX XXX XXX
    • Canadian numbers adopt the format (XXX) XXX-XXXX

Understanding these formatting nuances ensures effective communication and data management across profiles
