My Label Printer Isn’t Working

After installing the required software, the label printer should work automatically. If you’re experiencing issues, however, try these troubleshooting tips.

Ensure you have installed all the software

You need to install both the DYMO SDK and the DYMO Label Writer Software in order for your printer to work with the Elvanto check-in system. There could be a chance the download links in this article are not the latest version. We do our best to keep them up-to-date but DYMO can change them without us knowing. If that’s the case, simply do a Google search for both pieces of software and you should be able to find them.

Once you have downloaded the two pieces of software, if you run into any errors trying to install them, we have outlined some common operating system issues that might occur when installing.

Restart (open/close) your web browser or computer

If you just installed DYMO Label software, you might need to restart the browser. If that doesn’t work, try restarting your computer.

Verify browser compatibility and the installation status

You will  want to ensure your browser is compatible and not blocking the DYMO label printer from working. This article explains steps to go through to ensure that your browser is allowing itself to connect to your printer. This website by Dymo can be used to help check that everything is set up correctly.

Do a test print using the Label Writer Software

Try printing a label from the DYMO Label Writer Software you installed above. If that doesn’t work, there could be problems to do with the software or the printer itself. Follow the steps below to send “trace/log information” to DYMO support.

Collect trace/log information and send to DYMO support

DYMO can generate log/trace information that you can pass onto DYMO support for further help. To get the log/trace information it use DebugView on Windows or the built-in Console application on Mac.

On Windows:

  1. Start DebugView
  2. Do a test check-in in your Elvanto account
  3. Print a label
  4. Copy all messages displayed in DebugView.

On Mac:

  1. Open the Console application.
  2. Clear current messages
  3. Do a test check-in in your Elvanto account
  4. Print a label
  5. Copy all messages displayed

Send all the collected messages via the contact form on the DYMO website (Choose your country and then select ‘Support’ from the main menu to find the contact form).
