Browser Issues with Check-in System

This article is an offshoot of our main article for troubleshooting why your label printer is not working.

The Dymo Label software is installed as a plugin on modern browsers and can stop working on occasion. For a quick solution, navigate to this website to see if the Dymo Label Framework has been properly installed in your browser. If not, we’d recommend reinstalling the two software packages required just in case one of them failed.

The next step is to review your browser settings. We’ve given a detailed outline for all common browsers used today.

Please note that Google Chrome (Mac OS X and Windows) and Microsoft Edge do not support label printing.

Mozilla Firefox (Windows / OS X)

Check Install Add-ons Exceptions

  1. In your browser, go to Options/Preferences.
  2. Go to ‘Security’ page and click on ‘Exceptions’.

  1. If you see that your Elvanto site address URL is listed here, set the ‘Status’ to ‘Allow’.

Check Plugins

  1. In your browser, go to Add-ons.
  2. Click the ‘Plugins’ tab.
  3. Look for a heading marked as ‘Dymo Label Plug-in’.
    • If you can’t find the heading, the Plug-in is not installed. try reinstalling the DYMO label software again.
    • If the plugin is there, set it to ‘Ask to Activate’.


  1. Restart the browser and re-try the Check-in process.

Apple Safari (Windows / OS X)

  1. In your browser, go to Preferences.
  2. Go to the ‘Security’ tab.
  3. Ensure ‘Internet plug-ins’ is checked and then click on ‘Website Settings…’


  1. Make sure the Elvanto Address URL is currently set to ‘Allow’ in the Dymo Label Plug-in settings.

Internet Explorer

Using IE11 in Metro Mode

There have been several churches reporting loss of functionality when using Internet Explorer in Metro Mode for the Check-in System.

As IE11 disables most plugins and add-ons within the browser itself, it is recommended to use this in desktop mode – you will still be able to retain functionality of using your touchscreen functions in Desktop version of IE11.

Ensuring Plugins are enabled for the browser

To ensure that the Dymo plugins are enabled in Internet Explorer, click the gear icon on the top right and select ‘Manage add-ons’


From there, make sure the Sanford, L.P. plugin is enabled. This is the Plugin that Dymo use to print labels.


Click on the “More Information” option.


And make sure that the plugin is allowed to run on your Elvanto domain, or all pages. If you’ve got it set to all pages it will display as this screenshot, otherwise it will list the websites it’s allowed to work on.
